My entire career has revolved around developing and fine tuning specialized transportation and handling services for the movement of computers, electronics, medical systems, fine arts and various other high value / high secure items. It was made clear to me early on there was a need for a specialist who took the extra time, care and understanding about every piece we handled. This passion led me to starting TOTAL Transportation Solutions Inc, in 1994.

Fast forward to today and TOTAL now has several divisions including our Special Products division, Fine Arts division and Heavy Move Rigging division. All divisions are integrated and work together. As an example of the unique nature of TOTAL Transportation, our teams are well versed in the care needed to safely move large sculptural pieces with precision. We provide scheduled fine art shuttle services for small shipments right up to large scale, multi tractor-trailer exhibition relocations. This includes services across Canada as well as between Canada and the United States. Beyond that we are members of both ICEFAT and ARTIM thus providing global solutions with the network of fantastic partners.

Of important note here is TOTAL Transportation operates over 70 trucks and trailers overall. Within this count we have the largest climate controlled fleet in Canada, but they are not just trucks (at least not to me). We have taken the time to continually seek areas of improvement when we build new trucks. Always trying to build a better mousetrap, every truck is customized to some extent. This includes how to improve transition points to eliminate bumps where possible, choosing threshold materials to minimize vibration, and having horizontal logistic tracking cut to fit and then welded between the vertical logistic tracks to create a more sturdy box. This is only a couple things we do.

It is my pleasure being invited to participate in this conference and I hope to do two things. One, to share my knowledge and experience in a way that is of value to you. The other is to listen to your ideas and learn from your experiences to help my company improve our services to you. Look forward to meeting you all. Cheers!
